    The FACTS devices which are used in this thesis are shunt type controllers, Static Synchronous Compensator (STATCOM) and Static Var Compensator (SVC). The thesis is structured in five chapters; Chapter 2 gives an overview concerning the different grid codes as well as different wind turbines topologies.
